Brookings Children's Museum
The Children’s Museum in Brookings is the first and only of its kind in South Dakota. The Larson Foundation of Brookings sponsored the museum. CEO and President Dale Larson and his daughter Carmelle had the inspiration behind the museum.
Nearly four years later and countless hours of construction the Larson family finally opened the doors to the public and jump-started learning for children all around the area.
What use to be the elementary school, has now been transferred into the museum. The large building has been a blessing, much of the construction materials used were recycled from the school.
With over 20 exhibits for children 18 months and older to learn it is a fun family experience that everyone can walk away with something special.

We are all big kids at heart.
After the first week, I'm glad to be back in the grove of things. This was a great first story to jump back into. Over all I was happy with it. Clearly a few things needed to be changed. I was happy with how the filming went and Ben did a great job capturing everything. All-in-all I had a great time going to the Children's Museum and getting to see all of the exhibits. Be on the look out for my next big story.
