Much to often we hear people saying, “My vote doesn’t count.” Well for Jennifer Chase she wants to veto this idea. Chase and her friends have been camping out at the South Dakota State University Union for the last month trying to get new students registered to vote, informing them on the topic, and even where to vote. Setting up a table at the Union takes a special kind of person. Chase says “you have to be outgoing and get into peoples faces just to let them know where they can vote at.” You may not think that your vote will count but don’t let Jennifer Chase hear that.
How Jennifer is spreading the word to vote.
Why I did this project.
Being that voting only comes around once every couple years I knew I had to jump at the opportunity to get out there and do a story about it. My real challenge was doing a story that wasn't just an everyday normal voting story. So after walking through the Union on campus you can't help but be bombarded by students who are out trying to get you to do something. When I walked passed Jennifer and her friends I knew I had a story.
